Problem

MY ROLE • Lead Product Designer iOS and Android
Product design, user research, product strategy, stakeholder alignment, information architecture, user flows, visual design, interaction design, copywriting, quality assurance, design guidelines.

Three years without a refresh had left the home screen falling behind user expectations. Deal discovery was difficult, the visual system felt dated, and engagement metrics confirmed that friction was limiting click-through, comprehension, and retention.

Solution

A data-anchored redesign built on a home screen audit, competitive analysis, and internal engagement metrics. I led information architecture exploration, designed and validated multiple concepts, and ran unmoderated prototype testing against the existing experience. Results showed clear gains in engagement, click-through, and feature comprehension. The redesign launched to 20% of users, performed strongly across all key metrics, and rolled out to 100% — delivering a modern, scalable home screen built for growth.

Challenge

Balancing ambition with team capacity — designing concepts that ranged from iterative to transformative, then aligning stakeholders on a direction that would deliver real impact without overextending the team.

Summary

The RetailMeNot home screen was the first thing users saw and the last place they were finding what they needed. I led a full redesign grounded in engagement data, competitive analysis, and user testing — modernizing the visual system and restructuring the experience around discovery and clarity. The result launched to 100% of users and delivered measurable gains in engagement, click-through, and retention.
